Combilift pedestrian stacker wins IFOY award

Combilift has won a prestigious IFOY award with its Combi-CS pedestrian stacker. The innovative design took the Warehouse Truck Lowlifter category of the International Intralogistics and Forklift Truck of the Year awards 2020.

The Combi-CS is the only pedestrian counterbalance stacker that will operate in a conventional reach truck aisle. It features Combilift’s internationally patented multi-position tiller arm which can be turned to the left or right of the unit to position the rear drive wheel. This allows the operator to remain in the safest position, at the side of the machine rather than at the rear, and provides greatest visibility of the load and surroundings.

During the current pandemic the traditional awards ceremony could not be held, but the winners were announced on the internet in July. Finalists’ products underwent audit and evaluation by industry experts and journalists from logistics media from 19 countries. A typical comment from the jury was: “The Combi-CS offers significant added value in narrow aisle operation and safety in confined environments.”

Combilift chief executive and co-founder Martin McVicar (pictured) accepted the award on behalf of the Combilift team.

Other winners included Bosch Rexroth’s laser localisation software Locator in the Intralogistics Software category, and EasyMile’s TractEasy autonomous electric tow tugger in the AGV and Intralogistics Robot section.
