Advanced Engineering 2018 announces keynote speakers

The Advanced Engineering Show has announced industry-leading keynote speakers from companies including Siemens, Jaguar Land Rover and the High Value Manufacturing Catapult.

Each of the exhibition’s six zones will feature a range of speakers on current and future issues for their industry, including big data, Industry 4.0, fire, space, Brexit, aircraft of the future, electrification and robotics.

The speakers will include:

  • Paul Hingley, Siemens data services business manager, on the industrial internet of things and security
  • Mike Wilson, BARA president on Why UK Manufacturing Should Embrace Robotics Technology
  • Rosa Wilkinson, High Value Manufacturing Catapult communications director speaking about the Automotive Strategy.
  • Ed Andrews, Aerospace Technology Institute technologist on Aerospace Composites Technology road mapping.
  • Lawrence Davies, chief adviser at the Department for International Trade, on Future-proofing the UK supply chain.

It will feature six co-located zones: Aerospace Engineering; Composites Engineering; Automotive Engineering; Performance Metals; Connected Manufacturing and Nuclear Engineering.

This year Connected Manufacturing zone offers visitors the opportunity to find out what Industry 4.0 means for their company, providing an exciting insight into the future of engineering.


The Advanced Engineering Show is celebrating its tenth year and takes place on 31 October-1 November in halls 2, 3 and 3a at the NEC. It will feature over 600 exhibiting firms and six CPD-accredited open forums with over 200 presentations.
