Ductile iron fittings on a replacement water main near Irvine, Ayrshire, are being protected using a Winn & Coales Denso P1 Specification System. The new 12km stretch of polyethylene pipeline was delivered by Caledonia Water Alliance for Scottish Water.
Denso™ Paste acted as a primer, covering all areas to be protected. A smooth external profile was then created with the use of Denso™ Profiling Mastic before the profile was spirally wrapped with Denso Tape™, using a 55% overlap.
For extra security, Denso SA PVC Outerwrap™ was used to seal the system and protect the exposed petrolatum tape from UV or any backfill damage.
